Okay, I'll admit this small piece is a total excuse to inquire to the list at whole about Eternal Champion stories. I have found five of them scattered about the net so far, and was wondering if anyone out there knows of any more. So far I have Tippi's original two stories EC, and EC2, and the story "Dead Fish," by Susan Schaefer. I have Susan Garret's 'Seduction of the Diligent,' and "Tracy and the Wish Wolf," by Carla N Pickering, I believe it is. If anyone else knows of anymore, would you please let me know? I am completely taken with the entire idea. I heard there was to have been a zine, but I do not think that ever happened. If it did, would,{again} someone let me know? Thanks. Okay, on with the excuse piece. Disclaimers and so forth. Permission to archive granted. This story takes place a night or so after Nicholas is brought across. The End of the Day ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The night was brilliant. The stars shone brighter than ever, brighter than the sun itself, alighting all the desires of his soul into overwhelming flames. Never before had he noticed the nuances of a leaf hanging against a backdrop of royal purple sky, the slightest dent in the moon's craters, capturing the darkness, even as it magnified the light. A hoot from an owl in the distance, ringing in his ears, ringing through his soul. The darkness a velvet coverlet to be wrapped about himself, ecstatic cool warmth. He was in love. In love with this wonder that darkness brought. He laughed as he spun in the breezy wind, lifting from his feet ever so slightly, teasing the world with his defiance of the law's he'd been taught of as those of God and Nature, flying, leaving the ground, of his own will. There was no greater joy than this. No greater joy at all. Passion, passion, as the blood of darkness that was now his surged in his veins, bringing him to ecstasy simply by staring at the stars. Nicholas de Brabant laughed at the moon. The day was over. Let the night last forever. He never wanted to leave. end
