Date: Sun, 6 Oct 1996 07:32:14 -0400 From: ILCzJules1@aol.com To all, Hello and welcome. I feel an explanation is necessary for my Ep. Slants. You must initially understand that I am a Cousin. Who is, first and foremost, of the Unnamed Faction. And that these were written and posted for the entertainment of the UF Loop. What I do is take a scene or scenes from an episode and, as I re-tell the selected story bits, I interject my own brand of facetiously humorous, sarcastic and/or sometimes serious - remarks, comments and observations. All with an Unnamed Cousinly point of view. Agree or disagree, it's all meant to be taken as 'tongue in thong'...oops, I mean 'tongue in cheek', the *other* set cheeks ;-[)! Be aware -- These are PG13, at times. And some are much better than others, since they span a period of months and I got more adept as I went along (I hope .). Also, they are listed in alphabetical order, not chronologically to my original posting. So, enjoy...or not. Either way these Ep. Slants are mine, Illinois Jules (aka Julie Swendsen). I will never own the rights to any of the FK characters or their lines, and they are only being borrowed for the nonprofit enjoyment of myself and my Unnamed friends. If I ever finish bending these to my needs, I *will* return them, only slightly spindled and barely mutilated. Illinois Jules Input gleefully accepted. __________________________________________________________ Ep. Slant: Fallen Idol -- From flash back (Gee...really?): Nicholas, at Fleur's grave-site. Her burial just being completed in the foreground. We see LaCroix, heavily shadowed, approach Nick from behind. LC: "The loss of a family member is never easy...especially when you had the power to prevent it." (Why, LaCroix, you sound as if you're lamenting over Nikkie here.) N: "It is not what my sister wanted." (Is he sooo thick as to miss the inference? I know...he's in denial!) LC: [hmmph] "Time has dulled your memory, Nicholas... [Nick finally turns his head towards him] It is not what, *you*, wanted. A fact I will enjoy reminding you of often." (And how, dear Uncle, *will* you remind your wayward son of taking this 'love' of yours? Can we say 'Transfer of Affection'?) N: [turning away] "I loved her too much to subject her to your ill." (Read <*I* can take it. But I'll be damned if I'd let you have her, too.>) LC: "And I loved Fleur...so much so that I offered her the gift of eternity." (Read ) "What has your love given her? [pause] Big gap here, then LC blinks, with effort, twice. (Gathering courage?) LC: [flatly] "Au revoir, mon amour." [he is still speaking directly to Nick] (I listened to this several times. LaCroix *does* say 'mon amour'. Now I know I have a less than limited knowledge of French. So I looked it up to be sure: 'MY' -pronoun- Mon:Male Ma:Female Mes:Plural. Please contact me if I'm wrong here.) N: "She wrote to me after she knew she was dying...asking me to look after her son." LC: "You can't be serious." N: "It's something I have to do for her." LC: [ooh...] (He gives a physical kinda eye roll here.) "So this is how you're going to ease your conscious. Very well Nicholas, play the charade if you must. But you know how it must end." (Does he really? LaCroix' anger, *we* know stretches far and wide, or is it Nick that gets stretched far and wide? Ooops...sorry, too much JADFE again ;-[).) LC turns sharply and stomps off. _______________________________________________ Just blissfully romping on my UFfish way! As ever, Illinois Jules
