Right before Nick walks by and Natalie says her "warm and fuzzy" line. I wrote kind of quickly, so it's "rough". *Oh, and SPOILERS. If you haven't seen Father's Day don't read this!!* Father's Day Missing Scene Forever Knight fanfic by Margaret Newman *This scene takes place just before Natalie's "warm and fuzzy" line to Nick. Natalie, shifting folders and loose papers in her arms, edged towards the front desk of the precinct. At first glance she saw that Schanke was not in sight. Nick was supposedly home for the day, though he hadn't answered the phone. The precinct was busy, Capt. Cohen up in arms over the whole Constantine case, and she had a long night ahead of herself. The door opened behind Nat which did not draw her attention immediately. Footsteps came up towards the desk, and she guessed male, (nice cologne!), and a solid build. She glanced back, then down at her papers. She frowned, and looked back again. This time the man smiled at her. The hairs on the back of her neck bristled slightly, but she smiled in return. He was handsome, tall, dressed in black with a neat sword stick-pin at his throat. "Hi." Natalie said to him. "Anything I can help you with?" "Good evening." He replied with a nod. "Perhaps you can." He stepped towards her, an index finger raised to his lips. "I'm looking for Detective Nicholas Knight. A mutual acquaintance asked that I speak to him about a certain matter." "Oh, as far as I know, Nick's off today." Her reaction to him was unnerving. Attracted and suspicious at the same time. "Nick? I saw him a moment ago." The desk sergeant commented. "Haven't seen Schanke yet, have you?" "No, I certainly haven't. Capt. Cohen looking for him?" She asked with a grin. "Yeah." The sergenat grinned back, nodding his head. "Would it be alright for me to sit at his desk, and wait?" The stranger asked, a very friendly expression on his face. He looked from Natalie to the sergeant. "Sure." The sergeant shrugged. "Right over there." He pointed in the general direction. "Thank you." The gentleman replied. He lightly touched Natalie's arm. "Nice to have met you -" "Natalie, Dr. Natalie Lambert." She answered his unasked question. "Metro M.E. Our Lady of Miracles." The sergeant chuckled. "Yeah, right." Natalie laughed. "An honor, then." He did a small half-bow. Natalie blushed, the sergeant chuckled more, and then the gentleman walked away towards Nick and Schanke's desk. He seemed to hesitate at Schanke's desk, reading something there. Natalie shook her head, and went back to her paper work.
