You don't have to lemme know about that, though. 1/1 Forever Barney His masters had ordered him to take out the purple dinosaur. This couldn't be! True, he hated that cheerful styrofoam beast as much as the Warners, and everyone else on the face of the planet, but they could not expect him to.... No, it couldn't be done. It had been attempted before, and all who had tried had failed. He-man, the Smirfs, even Big Bird had been crushed beneath the power of the evil and annoying Barney children. In his former life, LaCroix had been a general, and he knew when he was outmatched. If only there was a way to tell this to his masters, the great Warners. But he had to find away, he could not disappoint them again. He refused this as an option. He began to plot and plan.... ....Two nights later: "Nicholas, I have a job for you." Nick looked up hopefully, with vacant, childish eyes from his bottle of green Power Ranger. "Will there be bottles from which to drink, Nunkies?" LaCroix gave him a pat on the head. "Yes, my dear boy, but first we have to put it into bottles. Guess what we are going to be having?" Nick bounced on the sofa a few times. "ohh, ohh, what?" LaCroix gave him a self-satisfied smile. "Barney children." Why did Nick look so disappointed? He needed Nicholas if this was going to work. "But I don't like Barney Children. They scare me." LaCroix took Nick's bib and whipped the drool at the corner of his mouth. "There is nothing to be afraid of. They're just... perky. Think of them as just a stronger form of your partner." He thought about that for a moment. A stronger form of Tracy... "Um, ok, I'll do it. Can we bring Tracy?" "No." "What about Vachon?" LaCroix thought about that. "No." He put a hand on the disappointed Nick's shoulder. "It will be just us tonight. It will be our little outing. You'll like that, won't you?" Nick wanted to to tell LaCroix no, he didn't like it. But he thought better. LaCroix might make him watch more of the... Animaniacs. Shiver. "Come Nicholas, we do not have much time." ******************** "Look, a stranger!" little Molly gasped in mock-surprise. "A stranger is just a friend we haven't met yet, why not let the nice man in," Barney replied to the little blonde girl. She was so tender... so plump... NO, he must fight these urges to tear the little children apart. He had to quell his carnivorous tendencies, or he'd never be a vegetarian again. Molly shrugged and opened the door. "There are TWO strangers!" "Hi strangers," came a chorus of childish trebles. LaCroix and Nicholas stepped through the doorway, and into the brightly lit classroom. LaCroix maintained his usual imposing demeanor, while Nicholas looked around like a kid in a candy store. "Fine," LaCroix said, finally. "Play with them if you must." Nicholas took off like a shot, playing with Molly and Derrick and Lucy... They had such fun toys! Keep them busy, laCroix thought. That was what he had brough him here for, after all. "Hi stranger, glad you could join us." LaCroix had not felt the urge to vomit in over 2000 years, but he had to choke it back, now. The sappyness was so thick in the air, he could taste it. Imagine, a carnavor wanting to be a herbivor again. Trying to repay the school yard for his sins by becoming an after school baby sitter. Trying to escape from his endless forever meat. It was laughable. It was as funny as a vampire wanting to be mortal again, trying to repay society by becoming a homicide detective. Both situations were letting the wolf guard the sheep! LaCroix knew that if he could revert Nick back to his true nature, then certainly he could do the same to this stuffed t-rex... thus alienating him from the public forever. "I am no stranger to you, Barnibus Rex. You know me well, for I am death." Barney gave the "stranger" a shocked look. How did this man know who... what... "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about, friend. We have peanut butter sandwiches and juice if..." LaCroix grabbed one of his stumpy little arms. "Do not toy with me, I know what you are. Give up your foolish quest to become a herbivor. Do not deny your true nature any longer!" LaCroix looked to Nick and the children. "You can smell them, can't you? You want to taste them. Their flesh calls out to you, why do you resist?" Barnibus hesitated, and a thin drop of drool fell to the floor with a soft "splat." "I am not like that any... more.. I.. CAN'T!" LaCroix continued to stare at the sweet little children as they played "Itsy Bitsy Spider" with his own child. "Look at them.... you want them... all. Why do you deny what you are?" "Because PBS said..." "To the devil with PBS! This is your nature, your existence!" He could feel the indecision within the purple dinosaur. "None of them like you, Barnibus. They only come here for your peanut butter and jelly sandwiches." With that LaCroix walked over to his son. "It is time for us to go, Nicholas. Say good-bye to the nice children." "Ok, bye-bye. Nunkies says its time to go. Bye bye!" He got up from his tiny chair and went to the door with his master. As a last thought, he whispered into LaCroix ear, "so when do we get to eat them?" They closed the door behind him, and heard the sounds of mass carnage being unleashed within the room. "This time, my dear boy, we shall be having sloppy seconds." As a rule, LaCroix did not advocate it, but it was all for the greater glory of his masters. **************** LaCroix stood before his masters, with Nicholas at his side. Nicholas nursed a green bottle with a nipple on it with loud sucking noises. "Lucien, you and Nicholas are to be commended," Dot said, rising from her high-backed chair. "I really liked the part where he ate the kids. It was sick, but I really liked it." Yacko jabbed his little brother in the ribs for the comment. Yacko moved to speak after silencing Wacko."As we have said, you are our most trusted servant, our first, our favorite." Ohh, no, here it came. "And because we have such faith in you, we present: The Bradys." LaCroix's heart was in his stomach. Why did he have to be his masters' favorite? Wacko gave Nick a pat on the head. "Can we keep him?" His siblings were not so excited about the prospect. "NO." they declared in unison. Who wanted an angsty Nicky? Even a broken one? -The End- continued in our next episode: Die, Cindy, Die. Tammy comments, questions and conerns are welcome. Just remember that I know where yuo live, before you say whatever it is you have to say =] have a nice day!
