This is my first fanfic post ever. I hope you enjoy it. BTW, I want to dedicate this to the many listmembers who make me laugh. Your posts are funnier, but here's to you, anyway. *WARNING this contains minor SPOILERS for recent third season episodes (Sons of Belial, Dead of Night, Fallen Idol).* Of course, these aren't my characters. ++++++ Greetings from Graceland (1/1) by Idalia Kakesako I can't believe it! I stand here by the water cooler, fidgeting with the cone cups, watching Nick and Tracy from the corner of my left eye. He grins at me and I smile back. I didn't want to admit it at first, but it must be true. Nick is changing. After five years, he's actually changing! But it's not because of me, or anything I did. None of my experiments seem to work--at least, not for long--and it's not like he hasn't tried to become mortal for at least a hundred years.... And yet. Something in the way he just laughed at one of Tracy's utterances, the way he joked with me at the wrestling match a few days ago--something is different now. Oh my God! I know. It can't be, but I know. He's gotten heavier--I thought maybe the protein shakes were too rich, or LaCroix's new Raven blood supply was. But Nick's sideburns are longer, too. And he visited that priest, and then that haunted house.... Nick's possessed. But not by that evil demon again. No, this possession is more benign, friendlier, funnier... Schanke-er! I can't believe it. But it must be true.... For the first time I can remember, the cooler bloops and water flows into my cup. A miracle. I stare in wonder at the paper cone in my hand. Suddenly, the scent of souvlaki wafts lightly in the air. I take it as a sign from beyond. I think to the ether, not knowing exactly *where* he may be. Taking a deep breath, I walk toward Nick's desk. "Hi, Nat," he says. "Nick," I answer, "there's something I need to ask you." He looks intrigued, as does Tracy. "Have you ever been to Graceland?" END ++++++ This bit of silliness was brought to you by Idalia Kakesako, who's been trying to write more serious things, but who was possessed by this piece & sidetracked. ) Comments are welcome at
