Date: Wed, 9 Aug 1995 10:38:03 -0700 (MST) Hunting of the Vampire by James Walkswithwind (note - this is the only Fit written) Fit the First "Just the place for a vampire!" the Nightcrawler cried, As he landed his crew with care; Supporting each man on the top of the roof By a finger entwined in his hair. "Just the place for a vampire! I have said it twice: That alone should encourage the crew. Just the place for a vampire! I have said it thrice: What I tell you three times is true." The crew was complete: it included Janette- A wearer of bonnets and hoods- A coroner, brought to examine the get- And a Knightie, to value their goods. A coffe-maker, whose pot was immense, Might perhaps have perked more than its share- And Alma, engaged at enormous expense Had the whole of their cash in her care. There was also a Moose (or possibly caribou) Who would sit making lace in the bow: And had often saved them from getting boo-boos Though none of the searchers knew how. There was one who was framed for the number of things He stole upon joining the group: An umbrella, a watch, all sorts of jewels and rings, Clothes, and a bowl of pea soup. He had forty-two boxes, all carefully packed, With Don's named printed clearly on each: But since he omitted to mention that fact They were mailed to Don's cousin in Keetch. The loss of the clothes hardly mattered, because He had stolen Lacroix' Mastercard, Tried to buy boots- but the worst of it was, QVC already posted a reward.
