This is for Diane, who wrote 'Little Drummer Vamp' for me. And for Becky and Mandi who helped me with the spelling. I am writing this beacaue Mel put me up to it! I'll Be Home For Christmas by Bari The Commisioner always threw a Christmas party for the city officals, their families, and a few other cops. Most of the people who attended vouched that it was a great party. But this year, Tracy Vetter didn't agree. Amist the christmas lights and the wine toasts for a happy holiday season, Tracy was depressed. She was perched on her father's arm, playing the role of the loving daughter. She felt like a five year old, always seen and not heard. Tracy broke away from a mild group discussion and moved towards the window. Crystaline snowflakes drifted on the tempest-like wind. Tracy looked at the park agacent to the hotel. Last Saturday night, she and Vachon had spent a few enjoyable hours there making snow angels, snow men, and having a snowball fight. They split up for a gme of hide and seek, but by the time she found him, they didn't feel like playing games anymore. Vachon took her back to the church and loved her for the rest of the night. "I'm gonna be gone for a week or two." he told her while they were lying naked togeather in his bed. "I wanted to let you know, so you wouldn't get worried if you couldn't find me." Tracy snuggled closer to his cold body. She had been hoping to spend Christmas Eve with him instead of appearing at her father's party. Candlelight on his glowing skin mixed with love making on the floor in front of the fireplace would be the perfect celabration. "Thanks for telling me ahead of time." she chocked. Vachon blinked. "DId you have something planned?" Ya want more kids? Here it is! Disclaimer: You know the drill; the people don't belong to me ect... I'll be home for Christmas (cont) by Bari "No." she lied. Vachon could sense the disapointment in her voice. He rooled on top of her and kissed her lovingly. "I'm sorry I cna't be here for you. I know you love Christmas." Tracy tried to crack a smile. "I'll survive. Just get back soon, Ok?" "Alright." her replied, and started making love to her again..... Tracy blushed at her pounding heart and the wicked ache between her legs. She opened her eyes and caressed the emerald ring on her finger. Maybe they could be togeather next Christmas. She hardly noticed a hush falling over the room as a delivery boy arrived carrying a long box to the uniformed gard at the door. The guard examined it, and guestured towards Tracy. The delivery boy interrupted her meandering thoughts by thrusting the ivory colored box into her arms. Her knees buckled as she examined the ruby ribbion inlaid with gold specks. Beautiful. Her hands fumbled to her purse for a tip, but the boy just smiled and explained that the tip had already been taken care of. By this time, a small crowd had assembled around the shaking figure of Tracy, as she untied the ribbon garnished box to reveal two doxen long stemed scarlette roses. She leaned down to revel in their fragrance, when her eyes glanced at the card lying motionless near the center of the box. She opened the card gingerly. It read: Come to midnight mass tonight. J.V. She hurridly left the gotel, barley clad in her black shawl she had arrived in. She tore out of the parking lot and onto the snowy roads. Tracy forced herself to slow down, and not to get in an accident. But in no time, she was pulling into the church drive way and running into the delapatated entrance. The rapid beating of her heart pounded it the very outskirts of her brain. 'He's here. He came back.' The beeswax candles illuminated the craggish walls and the master of the house. Vachon. "How did you like the roses" he asked, embracing her tightly; box and all. "I love them. I've never had anyone get me flowers before." "Now I know what to get you from now on." he smiled, and melted his mouth aginst hers.. Vachon laid on top of Tracy gently tracing her body with one of the roses he had bought her. The rest of the box was slated on the fllor nest to the bed, with a combination of lood and mortal tears freely flowing down the pedals. A small chime awoke Tracy a few minutes later. She looked up into his eyes; they were so deep, she could drown in them. "Merry Christmas." he whispered, as his face sunk into her neck and then up to her mouth. "I didn't even get you anything." he grimiced. Tracy just smiled aginst his mouth and kissed his soft lips. "You are my present. I don't want anything else."
