TPTB can have them back when I'm done. This is my first piece of writing...so please be kind....and a big THANK YOU to Monny for being my Beta reader. This may be archived to the FanFic page. Knight Before Christmas (1/1) T'was the night before Christmas and all through the loft, not a creature was stirring because LaCroix was honked off! Vachon and Tracey were all snug on the couch, as Schanke raided the fridge after Myra kicked him out! Nat in her teddy and I in my black silk jammies, had just settled down for an evening of sweating. Natalie was all snuggled close, all warm in our bed, and LaCroix (in the guest room) had just settled down, with a feeling of dread. When out of the night, there arose such a clatter, I sprung from the bed, to see what was the matter. I ran to the stairway, with a feeling of dread, as I saw LaCroix was downstairs, and he held Schanke's head! I flew down the stairway, lickidy-split, "Oh man, this can't be happenin'," Schanke spit and spat! I grabbed LaCroix by the hair and spun him around, his eyes red as fire, his cheeks all aglow, and I knew in a moment, Don must go! "Now Duckie, My Dear Duck, Now duckie, My little Rubber duck! Come Duckie, Come little duck! Come Duckie, Come cheer me up! To the top of the stairway, To the end of the hall, LaCroix was satisfied, and Schanke was quite bald! Nick stood in shock, LaCroix closed his door, Don stood petrified, hanging on to the refrigerator door. Nat came out of the bedroom, rubbing her eyes, "What's wrong with LaCroix?", she said with surprise. Nick shook his head, still in shock. Don sat down and said, "It was only a duck!" And then, to their wondering eyes should appear, Tracey and Vachon standing with a leer. Over to the refrigerator Vachon flew in a flash, "Hey man, don't you know....you shouldn't have done that!" He reemerged from the bedroom, in his best black suite, his duck in his hand, and he let out a hoot. Everyone stood in shock, when the smile did appear, and he then stared at Don, and he knew he had nothing to fear. He turned back to his room, and removed a large sack, then came down the stairs, with a pitter and a pat. The gang all stood, quiet were they, as LaCroix passed out gifts, before the new day. Nat got a necklace, Tracey got a watch, Vachon unwrapped a ring, and Don got a pair of matching socks! Nick stared at his package, still in shock. Was this LaCroix, with this big Christmas sock? The package was gold, all tied up in a ribbon, and he knew in an instant, what he'd been given. LaCroix turned with a wink, and nodded at Nick "....here's what you want....I'll miss you I think." Then with no further words, LaCroix left the loft. Nick stood with tears, Nat was in shock. Nick opened his package, and what did he find, but the cure he'd been searching for, all through time! Nick stared at the door that LaCroix had left through ....He thought to himself, "Merry Christmas to you!". And as Nick took the cure, all he could think, "I should have given him that duck back...200 years ago, I think?!" Merry Christmas! >From Lisa (a.k.a Knightowl) Lisa@cntwk.net
