Except for Miranda Harper. Miranda Harper is my sole property and others must ask to use her in their stories. Permission to archive at www.fkfanfic.com It's the first time I've written fanfic and I've never see other fanfic so here it goes...... The rain poured down in Toronto like there was no tomorrow. It seemed so much like the heavy rain of Vancouver and its unpredictable weather. Miranda sighed, looking at the clock again, five in the morning. A cup of water sat in front of her, the clock ticked softly against the wall. She was staring outside with a hazy look in her eyes. She had woken up from a bad dream and she felt unfinished. Life was the equivalent of hell for her, she had just moved from Vancouver to Toronto, her parents far away from her. She felt homesick, yet she knew, there was no other home than business jets zipping around the world, her parents onboard, typing away on laptops and her sitting in a seat, quiet , reading her mail. Just no adventure. Her interface panel beeped and she went over to it and turned it on. "Hello?" "Hello my pumpkin, how's Toronto?" "Rainy," she replied softly. "It's beautiful down her in the Caribbean, maybe you should get a day off from school." "No thanks, dad. I don't feel like it." "I'm sorry angel, but Emperor LaCroix likes me to conduct his business affairs for him." "Damn that world counsel and everyone on it." "That's not wise to say my button nose. LaCroix, Nicholas and Janette will surely have your head." "I don't care." "Well, at least your aunt Nat will be able to protect you. Well, gotta go pumpkin, I'll conference with you later. Bye!!" "Bye." She turned off the interface panel and got ready for her day at school. Stepping into Forever Children Secondary school, she went straight to the school office. "Good morning Miss Harper, how are you enjoying Toronto?" "It's very beautiful." Miranda replied, trying to convince him she wasn't lying. "Well, the Emperor will be here today." "May I ask which one." "Emperor LaCroix. Here he comes now. Good greetings emperor." "Silverman." "This is our newest student, Miranda Harper." "Hello." "Good morning." "Your father is a very helpful man." "He loves to serve," she replied. * You stinking bastard* "Excuse me?" "Was I thinking to loud?" "Not at all. I'll like to discuss some matters with you tonight Miss Harper." "Sure," she replied firmly. *About those mistresses who were drained of all their blood?* "I'll see you then." Miranda looked at the floor, she realized this was the only chance to show the world how she hated him. Before she thought it through, her fist had come up and hit his stomach, Her legs had foot sweeped him on to the floor and she had pulled out a small pistol she carried around for special purposes. Bodyguards came from all directions, pointing guns at her. She dropped the pistol down and went out of the school. "Sir..." "Don't go after her, I'll talk to her tonight about this incident." Disclaimers in Part 1 Miranda quickly rushed home and sat her computer. She immediately booked an airline ticket to Ottawa over the internet. She knew she was in deep trouble. Attacking and emperor on the world counsel meant death by stake. She rushed into her room and packed her bags, she rushed down the stairs and got into her Porsche and drove off. Leaving her car at the Park N' Fly, she took a shuttle bus over to the airport. On the newspad, a story about the incident at her school was top news and she turned away from the other passengers to not show her face. When reaching the airport, she checked in and went to her gate. Security guards stopped her just as she was entering. "Miranda Harper, you are now judged for the attempted assassination of Emperor LaCroix. Anything you say may be used against you in front of the world council during your trial. How do you plea?" "I have no comment." "Arrest her men." Miranda paced around her cell, thinking about her actions. "Miss Harper, you have been asked upstairs." "Miranda stepped out of her cell and went upstairs." "This room Miss." The maid guided opening a door. "It's time to talk," LaCroix said softly. Miranda looked up to face the world ruling council. Disclaimers in Part 1 LaCroix looked down at her along with Nicholas and Janette. She knew she was in deep trouble, the attack on LaCroix was all she needed to get into jail or worse, execution. She stared at LaCroix. "Do you know what you're here?" LaCroix asked. "Commiting a felony?" "No." "Huh? But at the school, my judging...." "That's not why you're here." "Then why?" "You're a very special girl, my dear Miranda. You are the light born out of the darkness. Your father is one of my closest businessmen, it's only fair that you should be one of my closest girls." "Daughter?" "Janette's my daughter, Nicholas is my son. So yes, you are my daughter." "I don't know what to say." "You don't have to say a thing, all you have to do is stand still and let your blood flow without resistance." "No." "Excuse me?" "No. Being your daughter is one thing, being a vampire is another." "How do you know?" "I've always had my suspicions." "LaCroix, Janette and I need to get home, finish her now." "Lock her up." A protective bubble formed around her. She looked at LaCroix and stuck her tongue out at him. "You're part of the resistance aren't you?" "Resistance is the way to survival." She began fading away and disappeared. "Find her, now!" "Miranda! You're back, we heard about the judging and we thought...." "It's alright, call a meeting. We need you to be the spy, he's found me out." "The plan's too dangerous." "Shut up!" "Crabby aren't we?" "You don't now how the system up there works! You don't know how much pain it will be to have him drink your blood. You'll feel nothing, then you'll fall into a pit of darkness, of your death." "And you're crazy! You want me to interface to get a new identity while you lure him out of full strength." "With love! Trust me Miranda, his kind can't feel love once they've been brought across." "Love is immortal, and it'll out last anything, including their vampire kind. You've got to trust me Alex, I'll get him." "Fine. It's your life." End of Part 3 Disclaimers in Part 1 Part 4 is rated PG 13 or as in the Canadian T.V. rating system: 14+ You've been warned.... Miranda stepped inside into LaCroix Towers and disabled security. An alarm went off and a sleep gas flooded the room, she gasped for air but eventually fell with a thud to the ground. She woke up to LaCroix gently stroking her cheek. "Whassat?" "You're still suffering the gas' side effects." "What's this place?" "My bedroom. I took the liberty of taking out most of the items you had with you, holy water, stake, cross. They were very revolting." "Anything to make you burst into flames." He pinned her down by her neck. "I really don't understand you, you're so innocent yet so very....thoughtless." She shoved him away."I had a horrible childhood." "Well then." A short beep emitted from her watch, on the hour as usual. She grabbed him close and kissed him. "You want something. But I like that." "You're very childish for an ancient vampire, aren't you?" "The older you get, the more childish you get." "Well, my dear ancient vampire, let's see how childish you are....." He grabbed her close and kissed her softly on the lips down to her neck. His eyes glowed green and he bared his fangs. "Mr. LaCroix, an emergency coucil meeting has been called." "Postpone it!" "Sorry, it's priority 1." "Gotta go, this planet calls." "Lucien, please don't go." "I'll be right back." The doors closed and locked. A small device beeped from her pocket. "Miranda, are you alright." "So easy to get the fish hooked, did you get a new id?" "Yeah, I've got it, I'm Diana Treeberlan." "Well, Rachel....Diana proceed to phase 2." "How about phase 1, getting you out of there?" "This man feels love, and our love is in the strangest form. In a web of lies, deception, passion and ranks. I'll survive." "Good luck." "Thanks." She stuffed the device back into her pocket just as the bedroom door opened. "C'mon Miranda, let's get going." "Where?" "The world needs to see its new Empress." "Cool." "But first...." He grabbed her tightly by the shoulders and bared his fangs and vampire eyes, he bent down slowly and sunk his teeth into her neck. She tried to scream, but the pain, the terror, silenced her voice, she felt his suction, greedily drinking her precious blood, the last thing she remembered was slumping into his arms, and his wrist, dripping with his blood." End of Part 4 Miranda and Lucien rode in their limo down the street. "Lucien, can we stop?" "Sure. Driver, stop the limo." "Yes sir." Miranda stepped out and ran across the street quickly, escaping the burning rays of the sun and taking shelter under a top. "Hello Diana, Alex." "Miranda, is that you? We heard you died." "You could say that," she replied, handing them a small padd. "This is access to my Swiss account. Deplete all the funds, to provide funding for the resistance." "Will you be back Miranda?" "He's brought me across. I love him, he loves me. And we will always have that web, I'll be back to kick the butts of the world coucil with you guys. Keep the hope alive." "Thanks." "Bye." "Bye." She ran back into the limo. "What was that about?" "Former friends, but now, I have devotion to my husband and his vampiric family. See, I'm not your daughter after all." "You're my wife." The two kissed each other on the lips as the limo drove off. (With a deep manly voice): We all make sacrifices for our kind. And we will always have love, even if it is in its strangest forms........ The End
