He hadn't moved from the spot for 2 days, save when refilling his wineglass. He missed her so much. She had been his life, the light in the storm that was his existence. She had been the one bright spot in his dark existence. And now she was gone, destroyed by a monster, the monster in him. Since Natalie's death, Nick had forgotten all his hopes of mortality. He'd gone back to human blood, lots of it in fact, not touched any garlic pills, and he hadn't spoken to a human being in a week. What was the point? What was mortality without Nat to share it with him? What was worse was that she really wasn’t gone. There had been too much life in the beautiful coroner for her to leave completely in just a week. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her. Although he was glad beyond words to see her, it was pure agony when he had to open his eyes again. The blonde vampire had loved Natalie since first sight and always would. Nick took a breath and closed his eyes. She was there. He could smell her, feel her soft, warm skin on his cold flesh and the wisps of her unruly curls on his cheek. He could still taste her blood and her kiss on his lips. She had seen it in his eyes that he would, but knew that if she didn't finish now, she'd never get a chance to, or the will to, refuse him and herself. "You must keep on fighting for what we believed in; you must show people, show yourself, that there is a way out of the darkness. You must live so that the message lives. If you die, it will die as so many ideals have before it. Nicholas, I love you more than anything, and we will see one another again. "No matter what happens, my love, remember that I will always be with you. So go on, live and help those in need, fight for that in which you believe.
