Date: Sat, 2 Jan 1999 21:20:15 -0800 From: Miranda LaCroix Subject: Nicholas' Barney Fears (01/01) To: FKFIC-L@LISTS.PSU.EDU Disclaimers: Forever Knight and its characters are owned by Columbia/Tristar/Sony Permission to archive at: www.fkfanfic.com This story is dedicated to my fave writer, my teacher of fanfic comedy, Sue Clark!!! :o) Okay, okay, this story is going to be silly Some background first: I never did watch any children's shows when I was young, when I was very young, I was already starting to watch Dracula: The Series during its first run. Scary, eh? And then I was watching this very bleak movie named Lifepod (tv movie) Never got to the end.. if someone knows what happened at the end, please tell me!!!!!! Ahem. Now, here's the story. Barney's owned by: Lyons Group Nicholas' Barney Fears (01/01) "I love you, you love me, we're a happy vampire, whee!!!" The purple dinosaur kept on rocking back and forth in front of Nicholas as he stared into that school house play room. He closed the door again. "Hey Knight, what's your problem? It's Nighttime Day Care!!" Schanke exclaimed. "I.. HATE.. BARNEY!!!!" Nicholas oozed out through clenched teeth. "Whoa, Knight.." Schanke's hands went up. "Shake it off, it's just some guy in some suit." Nicholas Knight sighed, opened the door and stepped into the Day Care Centre. A young woman who stood by the door smiled as they walked in. "Hello." "I'm Detective Knight, from homicide." He flashed his badge. Her frown turned into a smile as she looked at Nick's play girl picture. "Nice bod," she commented with a smile. "Thank you." Nicholas Knight nodded. He closed the badge holder and put his badge back into his pocket. "Detective Schanke." Schanke introduced himself. She held up her hand. "No thanks Mr. Schanke, you *don't* need to flash your badge." Schanke gave her a slight nod and returned the badge to his safe pocket. "There was a report of a body found?" Schanke asked. "Oh yes, come with me, the children do not to see a dead man," she frowned. The three adults walked into the back. "A very complicated place you have here, Miss?" "Winider. Cindy Winider. I was opening up the Day Care an hour after sunset, when I found a body of a dead man in the center of that play room, I quickly moved him to the back room, and have kept the room off limits from the kids." "Do you know this man?" Nicholas asked. "No. I just found him here," She replied. "Any thoughts on how he got into the Day Care in the first place?" Schanke asked. "No, not at all. But the back door's lock was broken when I got here," she explained. Nicholas Knight stared at her feeling a very familiar feeling. "Knight? Yoo hoo! Knight!" "I'm sorry," he smiled. She blushed and nodded, her hand turning the door knob and opening the door. The man laid dead on the floor, obviously dead. Schanke felt the man's wrist. "No pulse." "Miss Winider, does anyone else have access to this day care?" "Not between 4pm and 6pm. Or 10pm to 8am." "How about 8am till 4pm?" "The Day Care of the Day, separated by morning and afternoon." Schanke nodded. "Well, thank you Miss Winider, we'll be on our way." She nodded with a smile. "Thanks detectives. But how about the body?" "We'll get forensics to get over here as soon as possible." She smiled again. "Thank you, have a good night!" "Good night." The two detectives walked back out, cutting through the center of the playroom. The figure of Barney grabbed Nicholas' hand. "What's your name, young man?" "Um.. Nicholas." Nick responded. "Have a good night, then!" The figure greeted. Nicholas nodded with an uneasy smile, a shiver went down his spine as he left with Schanke. "Oh Knight, you chicken! You're afraid of Barney!" Schanke exclaimed. "Am not!" Nick yelled. "Are too!!" Schanke argued. Nicholas woke up from his dream, blood tears streaming down his forehead. "Echhh," he whispered going downstairs for a snack. He looked at the clock. 5 am, sunrise was soon to happen. And then he stared at a picture of his master standing with his immortal beloved. "Nahhhh," he concluded shaking his head, opening the fridge. Only a few hours earlier.... 11pm, Toronto. "Well, all the kids are out," Cindy smiled, putting the last toy back into the toy box. "Thanks for your help tonight." "Not a problem at all." Barney flew her to the roof, the Day Care was now locked, and they smiled as they looked at the city. The person in the Barney suit began taking off a leg, then the other one, then his arms, then the body suit, dropping each piece down. And then finally a head. Cindy giggled. "You're so cruel!!!" He smiled. "Of course I am!" LaCroix exclaimed. With those words, Lucien LaCroix picked up his beloved Cindy and flew off with her into the night. Miranda fleurdebrabant@cybergal.com
