Not Silly Nor Sad (01/01) "When life ends for us all, what is there left? An emptiness of death? A bright light of life? People die and people live, but what does one see at the end of their tunnel of life?" Miranda put down the glass of wine and laid back on her couch. The day had been tough on her and she just needed to relax. Nicholas lifted his head up in suprise about this evening's NightCrawler's monologue, it seemed dark, sad, human-like. Natalie put her pen down while listening to the radio, this touch of humanity scared her, had LaCroix found a cure for vampirism? "Love in the night in the darkness of stars, across the sky, near and far, love killed and strength increased, my life has fallen into a pitiful heap." Miranda sang softly... LaCroix heard the song and suddenly stopped in the middle of his monologue. "Tonight mes amis is the night to talk about sadness, sorrow within are hearts. So go out, talk and leave everything behind you...." LaCroix turned off his broadcast and flew out the window. "Miranda, I need to talk to you." "Not now John." "You have a concert in less than an hour." "I don't want to go." "Stop acting like a child and come with me. Then you can relax." "Stop treating me like a child!!!" You were great tonight." "Thank you," she replied graciously accepting the rose. "My name's Lucien LaCroix." "Miranda Harper. Well, but you know that already right?" She grinned. "Would you like dinner?" "Um, sure..I'd like a bite" "Just what I was thinking." LaCroix turned off his whammy and walked her to his car. He sat across her in a restaurant. "All this, for me?" "Of course....." She smiled. "I must admit, I don't usually go out with men I've met in the last hour, but you seem nice enough." "I thought you were the angel of my heart when I first heard you." She smiled. "Thank you." "Would you like to go out for a walk?" "Yeah sure, this restaurant is pretty good." "Only the best, for you." They walked hand in hand through the park under the beautiful silver glow of the moon. "What do you think when you stare at the stars?" he asked. "I see the shiniest diamonds to ever be found, the lighting of the night, for the creatures and people of the night." For once, he actually smiled. And then, by the rippling beautiful small lake, they kissed each other gently on the lips. With no chance to draw back, he sunk his fangs into her neck and drank her precious blood. He dropped her down to the floor. "Another meal for the night, with the finest vintages this time has to offer, what a terrible thing to waste," he sighed. He gave her one last look and flew off to escape the wrath of the rising sun.
