Relations and Love Within (01/01) In the darkness of the night, I walk, in the shadows of the darkness, the sun is beginning to rise, and I hide, in a small bomb shelter. The doors fling open, two men in black stare at me. Have I been found? Instead of being grabbed, they climb inside on either side of me, and close the doors. I sigh looking at them. And close my eyes, laying back, being in the presence of two men, on either side makes shivers go up my spine, and I smile, hands over my chest. Dogs, barking outside, and men walking around, trying to sniff out scents as the sun has fully risen. I dare not speak a word, as the men may be able to hear me, and just lay back, eyes closed, body tired, ready for bed. When they are gone, I let out a huge sigh. "Just shut up, and let me get some sleep, k?" I ask. And begin to sleep. "My name is Nicholas Chevalier," the man on the right whispers to me. "This is Lucien LaCroix." "Lydia du Montagne." "Are you by any chance related to her countess, Contessa du Montagne?" "Nope, don't know of her. I just am Lydia du Montagne." "Ahhh...." "Now, if you will, just shut up, I'd like to sleep....I have a long night tonight." "Why are you here?" Nicholas asks me. "I am hiding..." "From?" "None of your business...." I finally am content and close my eyes to sleep. "She is...lunch...." "LaCroix!" "Perfect meal, and snack for today." Lucien LaCroix places a hand to my cheek, and is on top of me, with a wild look in my eyes as I stare at him in fear. He gently bends down, to kiss me? But no, he bends down to my neck and kisses my soft neck. His fangs are bared, and he sinks them into my neck. I can only lie there, absorbing, feeling, experience the pain as he gently drinks my precious blood out of me. As he can taste my life, as I can taste his, the experience is exciting, and I just lay there, for him to take me..... He stops midway, and I can barely speak, as he gets off me, and lays back down on the other side of me. "The blood of a child is the purest and sweetest to taste, drink Nicholas...drink...." Nicholas' hunger has empowered him, as he gently cocks my head to the other side. His eyes, are now a greenish gold, and his fangs have appeared. His hunger is far too powerful to control and he bends down slowly to my neck. With one big rush, he sinks his fangs into my neck, tasting the sweet nectar of my blood, the finest and greatest type of blood to be found, the blood of the child is the most precious, since it is in low supply in each body. Nicholas greedily drinks and stops, before I die....and lays me back down. "No..." he whispers. "Nicholas?" "Hers, is a blood of a child, the precious, and sweetest. I will not take her blood to the point where she has no chance...." He lays my head down on the floor and sleeps, on the other side, consumed with both guilt and patience. I can barely whisper, as he sleeps, to LaCroix. "And what is that supposed to mean? That I, am dead?" He chuckles, amused, I am probably delirious to be uttering such words, and just lay back, relaxed, weak, and in need of some sleep. LaCroix licks the extra blood off my neck instead of going for another bite. "Nicholas has a tendency to....let guilt get in the way." I laugh, high on something... "Then he is human...and not a vampire..." I fall into a deep and needed sleep. By the time I wake up again, the two vampires are gone. As I open the doors of the shelter, Francesca, is there, staring at me. "Good evening Lydia, it's time to go back..." "No..." I cry out. Her eyes are with a devilish glee, and I"m too weak to fight back as she begins hypnotizing me, next thing, I'm back at Francesca's mansion, in my cage, similar to the cages of the other artists. I am staring out the window in a white silk gown, looking at the moon, waiting in a guest's room, later that evening. The door opens behind me, and I turn around to face Lucien LaCroix. "What are you doing here?" I ask. "Francesca, Contessa du Montagne, said she had a suprise for me in my room, a meal, I wasn't aware it was you." I freeze in horror....I was to die tonight in his arms. "Very ironic..." I trail off... He steps up to me, and looks... "Yes very.... You may have escaped Nicholas this morning, but you won't escape me..." I sigh..there's no escape, tonight's the day of my death.. "Then you must no how depleted my resources are..." "But your blood is the most different and addictive blood I've ever tasted..I guess this is justice..." He whips me around, and my neck is revealed to him, under my hair..brushing some more hair aside, he looks on, to two light wounds, still there...with a grinning devilish smile, Lucien LaCroix sunk his fangs into my neck....I died that night..death..was my justice.... Miranda popped out of her dream, the first leg of her journey was almost done. She was to stop in Los Angeles an continue on to Paris through various types of transportation. Getting off the train, at the LA station, she boarded the next one to Vancouver. In her hand, held a ticket, slung over her shoulder, was her laptop, and a small back pack. She sighed as she board the train and entered the room. Three other passengers sat there, a women and two men, the shade was up, and the moon shone lightly on her seat. "Hi," Miranda greeted, taking her seat. She sat, at opened her lap top to some work, plugging it in to a modem line, and a cell phone. She took out earphones, and plugged them in. LaCroix looked in horror at her, she looked too familiar to Lydia du Montagne, but there she sat, in front of him, in the 20th century, typing in a laptop. The woman next to Miranda was the first to react. "Good evening, I'm Janette du Charme." "Miranda, Miranda Harper." "These are my travel companions." "Nicholas Knight." "Lucien LaCroix." "Um, like hi." She turned back to her laptop. "What is it you're doing exactly?" "I'm tracing some family history....I must be related to you, cause you see in this part, the du Charme family line is briefly introduced." "Hmm...what's this? de Brabant?" "Someone named Andre de Brabant in the 13th century married, this young woman, Sylvie, which continued the de Brabant timeline through Marc de Brabant and went off somewhere else..." "I see... How extensive is this?" "I don't know, I'm still trying to find out.... I seem to be unable to crack through the 12th century barrier, I don't know why...I guess some records were lost..." "I see..." "You must see everything then," Miranda smiled. "More than you know," Janette mumbled. A food attendant came in. "What would you like to order?" "Um, Coffee, Cookies, and Hot Fudge Sundae." "Are you sure that's wise Miss?" "Hmm, too much sugar, change the Coffee to a Pepsi." "Anything for you? "Wine, red wine..." Janette replied. "Same here," Nicholas requested. "Red wine," LaCroix requested. "Ok..." The food attendant closed the door. "A bit hungry today?" Janette asked. "I need a damn sugar rush, I have to get so many school projects done through the internet..." "Really, you're still going to school?" "Yeah, Oxford University in London. I might go to University of Toronto later though..." "I see..." Miranda yawned. "Yup..sugar rush, like always..." The food attendant came back in and gave each of them their orders. "Thank you.." Janette thanked, as Miranda wasn't watching, she poured a small vial of human blood in the wine. Nicholas and LaCroix did the same later on, and ingested the liquid. Miranda's cell phone rang, and she picked it up. "Hello? Hey Nick, yeah, sure..." She took out a piece of paper, and wrote down a phone number. "Yeah, like thanks. Yup. Ok. Oh sh*t, oh man.... Ok, I'll be back in like a few days... yup. Toodles!!" She put the phone down. "What's wrong?" "My dorm got ransacked... oh well." She turned back to her laptop, and sat back. "What's that?" "Oh, it's a piece of fiction about writing, about vampires." "Can I read?" "Yeah, sure... I haven't established the character of Contessa du Montagne yet, but it's pretty good.. I'm so sorry Monsieur LaCroix, seems your name was in this, I can change it if you want." "It's fine, forget it." "She smiled. "Thanks." "He stops midway, and I can barely speak, as he gets off me, and lays back down on the other side of me. 'The blood of a child is the purest and sweetest to taste, drink Nicholas...drink....'"Janette read and gave it back to Miranda. "An interesting read..." "It's from dreams, I just interpert them carefully, scrutinizing every detail." The door opened. "Miss Harper." "Yes?" He held a gun at her. "Would you please come with me?" "What? What the hell is this?" "A quaint kidnapping...all of you hold still. Miss Harper, if you will come with me..." Miranda closed her computer, entering a macro command on her way out, and put the computer down, she then left with the man. "She knows, way too much." "LaCroix, you never mentioned this.." "It was an adventure in that time, none of your business.." "I see...." she smiled. "Shouldn't we help her?" "She deserves to die," Nicholas whispered. "My my, Nicholas, you have a hate thing against her?" "She's just an infestation of my guilt." "Ah..guilt Nicholas...I happen to like her unique style..." "LaCroix, you're not going to do that, are you?" "Well Nicholas, she musn't be born again to write this type of fiction." Janette smiled at LaCroix. "Only cause of that final scene before she died." "Janette!" "What final scened before she died?" Nicholas asked. "She was LaCroix's meal in Francesca's place before she died." Nicholas looked at LaCroix. "Really?" "It was what Francesca meant by a 'gift' in my room, I didn't know it would be Lydia." "This is getting to be like a soap opera..." The man with the gun shoved her back in. "Thank you, Miss Harper..." He closed the door shut. Janette helped her up. "What happened?" "They made me hack into the First National Bank's computers...they don't know I also contacted them about the hack..." She got back on her seat, and sat. The train suddenly came to a halting stop, and the two women flew into the other men's arms. Janette and Nicholas looked and kissed as LaCroix and Miranda stared. ***Dream*** "The blood of a child is the purest and sweetest to taste, drink Nicholas...drink...." ***Dream*** Miranda shooked the familiarity off. "Sorry..." she said gently and got up from him, she sat back down at her seat, the lights, dim, almost failing, the sun was about to rise... and Miranda pulled the shade down. "Why did you do that?" "Hate the brightness of the sun." Deep in Miranda's heart, she knew, she knew Lucien LaCroix, who stood before her, was the Lucien LaCroix who had killed her... She couldn't stand it, she knew, and she knew that he might've known, and sighed. Nicholas noticed. "What is it?" She whispered.. "I know..." "Know what?" "You were Nicholas Chevalier weren't you? And you were Lucien LaCroix, weren't you?" Nicholas looked worried, but put up a calm front. "And you now think we're vampires?" "Yes, I do." "Vampires are purely a figment of imagination..." Janette started. "No, they're not. I know, they exist, from those dreams I've been having..." LaCroix chuckled. "You really think so?" "Yes, I do..." He lunged at her, fangs bared, and pulled her into his arms. "Bad choice..." "Go ahead, kill me, like now, I'll be back to haunt you, and Nicholas of your guilt, that choice you made to kill me.. go ahead, kill me...succumb to your desire for the kill, the hunt, my blood..." He flung her back against her seat, totally angry. "No." "What??!! No??!!" Janette asked in shock. "No." "This is a new LaCroix we have here...." He stared angrily at Miranda, who only grinned back. "No." She looked with a smile. Later that night, Janette and Nicholas slept on one side together as LaCroix sat with Miranda. She was out for now, for a washroom break, but he heard screaming. He rushed out to see the Enforcers there, standing in Miranda's way. "No!" LaCroix yelled at the Enforcers. "She has to die!! She knows!!" "No!! I can fix this!!" "You have five minutes!!" They went off as Miranda fainted to the floor. LaCroix picked her up, and stood with her, outside of the train car, Miranda in his arms. His fangs were bared by the time she regained conciousness, and his eyes were glowing green, he sunk his fangs hard into her neck, and drank her familiar blood....but instead of tossing her off the train, this time, he decided, this time was the time to change history. He bit into his wrist, and dripped his blood, drop by drop into his mouth. She grabbed his wrist, and greedily drank, and then she stopped and looked at him, he looked at her, holding her body in his arms still. She could only hug him close, as the Enforcers came back. "No!! She is immortal!! You cannot kill our own kind!! I will teach her...." They flew off, satisfied that the secret about vampires was not to be revealed. "Immortal?" she gently mumbled in his arms... "A vampire? Life is going to get a bit interesting..." she whispered... He chuckled. "I must agree...." The moon and the stars were in the sky, as they kissed each other's lips gently, and the train went on.... ~Finis~ Send all vampires named Lucien LaCroix, to the address below. -- Cousin NA GSS Dod:OMR DP FKN RP Miranda LaCroix, Divia Livius "There is goodness in you.
