(01/01) She stepped out of her house, and went to school, a typical Friday morning, it was not rushed this day, since she was very... calm. Had she forgotten something? She didn't know, but continued to walk to school, content and happy... And then the limo pulled up. It was a black stretch limo, she did not care to stop and stare at it, till the window rolled down.... A face popped out, a woman, whose hair was tied up, her red lips were an extreme crimson red, and she wore a blue, relaxed, business suit. "Good morning." Melinda turned to face the woman. "Good morning...." "I have someone in here who would like to meet you." "Oh, really? Well, I"m sorry, but I've got school, and I've always been taught to never ever ride with strangers." The woman nodded, fully agreeing. "Of course. My name is Sandra Sheridan, please, if you would like to meet Mr. LaCroix, give me a call." "Wait, did you just say LaCroix?" Melinda asked. "Yes, miss." Sandra replied. At that moment, Melinda scruchned the card up and grounded it with her heel. She walked off. The bell rang, and realizing she missed her first class, she sighed and went to her locker. Emptying a bunch of things out of her bag, she took a book and headed for the school's mini garden. On the way, she saw him standing there, waiting for her. "If you would please, excuse me, I have some reading to do." Melinda stated. "Purity versus evil? A good choice for such a situation." he commented....... "Ironic, isn't it, LaCroix? Every single thing in this book is happening, right now." He looked at her with soft eyes... "And is it not your destiny then to finish?" LaCroix asked. "Finishing this will be done my own way, not predicted by a book." "There's also my way." "I don't want to go through this again, LaCroix!" she exclaimed. "You have to!" "NO! I don't. You have been hounding me for the last 2 centuries to get me, and there's no chance you ever will, just face it!" "I have never had to face anything in the last 1900 years, and you know it!" "Then change!" He grabbed her close and gently kissed her on the lips. She looked at him for a moment, and slapped him across the face. "Don't you ever! Do that to me again!" She stormed off and went to the front of the school. Paying the bus driver, she took a bus all the way to downtown, checked into a hotel and laid down on her bed, crying herself to sleep. *** And with pain... Love's bonds... You know again It's all wrong... Betrayed by love Betrayed by friends. Please tell me, to never do it again... *** The dream ended, and she awoke, with a soft gentle touch of hair on her cheek. She opened her eyes to see LaCroix there, beside her, fondling her hair. "LaCroix....." "I know you're in pain, care to tell me about it?" She wept in his arms. "I want to be freed... I want to leave...." He held her, a smile forming on his lips, his eyes turning an unusual goldish green. "I can give you all that.. and so much more...." "LaCroix, I don't.. wanna.. live anymore...." "Don't throw away your life..for an empty box..." "I don't wanna do that.. I want some meaning.." "And you shall have some meaning to leave behind.. as a writer.. as one of the known ones.. all those people who you have known, befriended, worked with.. are all false hopes.... I can give you even more.. I can show you the path to true life... revenge...." She closed her eyes. "I have decided... do it.. kill me...." "I'll do so ever more than that..." he bared his fangs, roared and sunk them into her soft neck... Their memories and thoughts flooded each other's conciousness, and as she faded away, he grew stronger with every fading heartbeat.... she was the innocent, he was the hunter.. and he had succeeded..... As the hunter had caught his prey, and drank his prey, the hunter also felt sorry for his prey.. innocent... willing... and without any hesitation at all, his fangs sunk into his wrist, blood began filling up the wound, but the blood wasn't necessary to clot the wound, he turned his wrist upside down and dripped it into her mouth.... Who knows whatever happened to Melinda? She's now gone, from the eyes of the publice, disappeared into the night with her lover. But one thing, is for certain, she got what she wanted. And as you stand in the ruins of Melinda's former school, you wonder how ever a bomb could've been hidden so carefully? How a bomb of such magnitude could destroy the school and everyone in it..... There have been stories, stories always told, that she had come back to kill them.... This was one of them... was there ever more? Finis Cousin Miranda fleurdebrabant@cybergal.com
