Date: Tue, 24 Oct 1995 08:27:11 -0500 From: Julie Randolph Subject: Sap **Beware, beware, beware...I have to run an errand at nineam and I just got off work, I'm beyond exhausted and the love of my life called me from Los Angeles last night so this is gonna be mildly strange and incredibally sappy I would imagine** JCR Sap A completely freewritten Forever Knight thingy I just came up with to pass the time. Julie Randolph Cousin by choice, tracy Defender because I like her damnit! "Hollin' bulloks' mate, it's not like I 'ctually called him a enforcer, right?" Screed was pacing, well, to say pacing was probably not an apt description, he was zooming from one end of the sewer to the other with all the seep a Carouche could muster, which was incidentally, quite a lot. There was the sound of a high pitched squeel and Screed looked down at the rat he had just planted his left foot on,"'Least I don have ta go lookin fer breakfast, eh?" Vachon, who was sitting sullenly in a corner looked up blankly and then returned his eyes to the guitar he had lain across his lap. "He's not a happy guy, Screed." "Well..." Screed paused, this was actually a situation he was not quite accustomed to. He was used to living the life of...well, of a vampire and damned anyone who said he was doing it wrong, "If he don't like it mate, I can't 'elp it can I. He 'ooks like one, oie?" "Yes well, be that as it may, I do believe he still wanted to have a chat with you." "Great," Screed mumbeled and then wandered down further into his sewer-like home, prodding rats hanging from clothspins with a dagger every so ofter, trying to ammuse himself. "I don't believe, Carouche, that the rats get any deader." the voice came from behind them both and Screed went paler than usual as he turned to see LaCroix walking toward him. "Eh, now, gimme a break, huh, mate. I may be the only one left en existence that 'as less 'air than you." LaCroix was unamused, but the comment did manage to garner a snicker from Vachon who still sat in the corner, watching intently. LaCroix turned goden/red eyes upon the young vampire and he made a very wise choice and left. Screed stood there for a moment and then yelled after him, "Some friend you are, eh, I 'elp you're buddy Defective Knight out all the time and no thanks at all." "The Defective you are referring to, is my son." LaCroix was actually getting general enjoyment out of this Carouche, because certianly if nothing else could be said for them, they were amusing. "Oh yeah, well...what can I tell ya mate." "Tell me where he went." "I told you b-fore, I dunno where, 'e just said 'e was leavin, took some pretty lady with 'im too 'e did, eh, yeah, she was a dandy one alright." "I see, and you've no idea where they went?" Screed shook his bald head,"Nope, sorry." He pointed toward the exit to the sewer,"They went thataway." LaCroix stared at him for a moment longer, wimply to watch him squirm, which he did, and left, the Carouche did not know where Nick had taken Natalie, perhaps it was for the best. Maybe Nick had finally decided to accept what he was and bring her across with him. Lacriox laughed,"Yeah, right." PARIS, ALONG THE RUE DE MASSE, NIGHT Nick looked over to the woman who walked at his side and smiled at her gently before looking away once again. this was a great idea, they needed some time, away from LaCroix and Tracy and Vachon and everything, just away from the reality of what he was, so he had done what he thought best at the time. Brought her to the only place in the world where reality is swarmed my the passion, drive and de vive of thousands upon thousands of people who had waked this same path. He reached out and took her hand, and she smiled almost innocently. they both knew where they were headed, and what might come, but here, in this place, somehow that didn't matter, and it never would. they stopped along the river, and Nick reached down, picking a flower from the ground and handing it to her. She smiled again and sighed, the touch of his hands was more than enough for now, but what of later, when perhaps that touch might not be enough. He leaned closer, slipping his arms about her waist,"Don't worry about later, think only of now, of this time we share here, together, whatever happens, we will always have this moment," He grinned at her from ear to ear, "We will always have Paris." S She moved smothly into his arms, watching the river as it flowed past i a gentle mist of fog that must hve endeared it to so many lover over the centuries. He pulled her so she was standing in front of him and rested his head on top of hers, kissing her temple and enveloping her in his strong arms. 'Did you want to go back now?" Natalie paused, while desire was certainly in the forefront of her mind, she wass unsure she wanted to let this rare moment of peace, love and silence slip away. Almost as if he could read her thoughts, he pulled her into the grass, leaning her back against his torso. "It's different, isn't it? Without the other worries to take up so much of our time." "I wish it could last forever." He touched his finger to his head,"It will, Nat. With me." She could wait no longer and leaned forward, willing her lips not to tremble as they came into contact with his. He pulled her closer, tasting her, their love covered them in a shield of happiness that was the beauty of Paris, and a moment in time when they were finally freed of any burdens. "Lets go back." Natalie was speechless, so she simply nodded, carefully clutching the flower he had given her. they waled through the darkened streets, neither of them spoke. Both of them afraid that somehow, this moment, this night, this freedom would end with the extasy they knew a touch would bring. Nick owned a house, she had found when they arrived, and inside a fire sat blazing high, welcoming them. He poured champagne, tried not to gag when he drank it, and managed to succeed quite well. They sat there for sometime, watching the flickering flames of the fire dance across the walls in shadows. He turned to face her,"Nat..." She cut him off with her lips, it was too late for her, she could never love anyone else, she had, she must have known that all along, since the day they had met prctically. She didn't care anymore, and when she looked up finally, expecting to see questioning and doubt in his eyes she saw none. He was as lost as she, with no hope of recovery and no desire to get back anyway. His lips trailed a heated path down her neck, touchin ghte vein there. He could hear the beating of her heart, the smell of her blood was intoxicating, but somehow, this moment, this instance was different. This was not desire for blood, he realized, but simply a desire to be a part of her the only way he was capable of, and she was unwilling to back away from him now. His eyes never took on the amber glow of hunger he was so accustomed to, as he looking into her eyes, they still shined with the gentle blue she had known for so long. His teeth slid gently, softly into her throat and the sensation was unlike anything he had every before experienced. It coursed through him in waves of passion and desire, crashing up agains him unti he groaned of his own accord and pulled her against him. Natalie was utterly lost in the sensation. Beyond description, no one could know, for it was the love only a vampire could give and it was a love that was somehow different. As he pulled away from her, their lips came together once again, mingling spit with blood, the taste simply erotic. Nick sighed, pulled her into his arms and kissed her gently, he understood the one thing that he had never seen before now. True love, undefiled, pure, the kind of love that can bear any boundary, was able to overcome anything, even him. His love for her surged through him once again and he felt as if he could whisper it into her ears over and over throughout the night,"Natalie, I love you." ***************************************************************** all response, flames, spams, oreos, definitions of "irony", letters of recommendation and/or Geriant Wyn Davies home address to randolph@tenet.edu That was all the sap I fell capable of today, I have definately not had enough sleep 'You didn't have a cat named Fluffy, didja?"--Nick to Tracy, Blind Faith *****************************************************************
