Date: Thu, 16 Dec 1993 02:05:23 CDT Sidney's Chirstmas by Dionne Nelson Sidney was having a bad week. First his normally reliabe person had left; he had just been settling in for her normal "work" schedule when Nick (who was friends with that monster Janette) kidnapped him. Nick had put him in his carrier (it was worse than the cages at the vets!) and then put him in a huge room! The room had been mostly black, which was good, but it was so big Sidney knew he wasn't going to be able to explore it, let alone establish his territory. Nick had made a nice bed for him, it was white and fluffy, and didn't even smell funny. But just after he'd gotten his bed just the way he wanted it he started sneezing. Then it was back in the cage to a new location. He was dropped off (left again, really) with the monster Janette. At least the room was smaller, and he could breath much better. *You're a monster* he would say to the creature, and she would respond with *I eat cat-litter*, her accent was horrable! Since she didn't understand the basic neccesities of cat life he gave her a fur-ball, the demon didn't even clean it up! She also didn't understand about scratching posts so he'd gone after a couch leg (the fabric would have been better exercize, but he was trying to teach her something). After awhile another demon came in, and then brought a bird, a very large bird. Janette left shortly after that. Sidney had just settled in for a nap when the bird started making noise. Sidney swore at it, pleading for a little peace, when suddenly the bird answered him. *You don't need to be so rude, you have nine lives, you can wait until we understand each other*. That had turned into a very interesting conversation, even after the monster returned. Now Sidney was back home, his person was holding him on her lap and feeding him treats. She gave him a good scratch behind the ears, and stayed still, even after he fell asleep. It was good to be home.
