I am posting this before I lose the nerve. Standard Disclaimers: These characters are not mine, but I promise to put them away when I finish playing with them. This song is not mine, and I intend no harm to it or its creators or performers. *****Spoilers for Last Knight***** *****Spoiler Space***** ********** ********** Have you seen him on the corner and his lip would reach the pavement he's been hiding from his razor is he not an awful sight "Knight!" "Captain?" is the indifferent reply. "Detective, you look like hell. I know these past few days have been awful for you, and you can't be looking forward to getting a new partner...but I need you to do your job, instead of sitting around sulking all night." "Sure, Captain." "Love...what an interesting concept, to be loved, to feel loved, to love; this is what preoccupies lives, so many lives..." In love he was the purist now he's frightening our tourists How many times over the centuries had he loved? So few, it had never been like that before, surely never would be again...was she worth the sacrifices he'd made? Was *he* worth the sacrifices *she'd* made? Why was that the one lesson he never learned? Don't. It really sounds so simple, yet, time and again he did, but never had he been so *stupid* before. He'd come close, but never had he been so inept. After eight centuries of life, the lessons learned during mortality have faded... and it all might have been different had he seen her in daylight She was painted she was scented but she drove your man demented Four years she devoted to him, helping him, trying to make him mortal again, and this is how he repays her! For four years, he had watched her, listened to her heart beat, smelled the scent of her blood, like honeysuckle with a touch of nutmeg. Four years he had fought the bloodlust, knowing that if she didn't find the cure, one day he would lose the battle... But your man who lost his woman he's still at home lamenting She was gone, his sweet, innocent Natalie, who looked at him adoringly, trustingly; who helped him through every little problem, and quite a few of the bigger ones. Now depression's not a million laughs but suicide's too dangerous don't go lepping out of buildings in the middle of the night It's not the fall but landing that'll alter social standing Why hadn't LaCroix killed him? Why had all this happened? He knew it was his own fault, really. No one to blame, but himself, he should have known LaCroix wouldn't kill him, help him with his suicide, even if it was what he wanted, what he deserved. But she didn't deserve this, what he'd done, what had been done, it couldn't be changed now, but life seemed to be really cruel at times. "Really Nick, you've got to stop sulking. If I have to live with this for the next hundred years, you're really going to regret it." His only reply to that could be to hold her, and tell her that a hundred years could never repay her for what she gave him... take her in your arms and tell her that you love her take her in your arms and hold that woman tight won't you take her in your arms and tell her that you love her? if you're going to love a woman then be sure and do it right ***** Please send all comments, criticism, and macadamia nut cookies to ***** These're the lyrics to the song in their entirety: Have you seen him on the corner and his lip would reach the pavement he's been hiding from his razor is he not an awful sight In love he was the purist now he's frightening our tourists if he'd gone and asked his father oh I'm sure he'd set him right Refrain: Saying "take her in your arms and tell her that you love her take her in your arms and hold that woman tight won't you take her in your arms and tell her that you love her? if you're going to love a woman then be sure and do it right" Now he met her at a disco in a dive in San Francisco and it all might have been different had he seen her in daylight She was painted she was scented but she drove your man demented if he'd gone and asked his father I'm sure he'd set him right Refrain. Here's a pub with fun and laughter the landlord's buying bevvy there's a session in the corner and the crack is grand tonight But your man who lost his woman he's still at home lamenting if he'd gone and asked his father oh I'm sure he'd set him right Refrain. Now depression's not a million laughs but suicide's too dangerous don't go lepping out of buildings in the middle of the night It's not the fall but landing that'll alter social standing so go first and ask your father and I'm sure he'll set you right Refrain. Here's a hint to all true lovers their sisters and their brothers and their uncles and their grannies for this thing is black and white If you're keen to start romancing with its lepping and its dancing then go first and ask your father I'm sure he'll set you right Refrain. And "take her in your arms and tell her that you love her take her in your arms and hold that woman tight won't you take her in your arms and tell her that you love her? if you're going to love a woman then be sure and do it right" Kira- member of the CCS - Vaquera--Merc, still taking bets on Vaqueras vs. Vachon on SKL "It's a mystery, wrapped in a riddle, inside an enigma."-JFK
