(inspired by too many "Bionic Woman" reruns) We Have the Technology... Copyright Oct, 1995 By: Dawn Steele h36a@unb.ca Tracy opened the passenger side door, and stepped out of the caddy. The suspect in the weird animal sacrifices was moving quickly down the alleyway. Detective Knight *will i ever think of him as Nick?* had disappeared. Good. Scanning the immediate environment, she determined that no one was watching. With a strange, almost slo-mo grace, she bent her knees and... After landing on the roof-top, Tracy zipped along the edge until she could get a clear view. Something large, and vaguely human shaped whizzed by the moon, but her mind was fixated on the ground and she didn't notice. Spotting the lunatic *he killed Max! i'm going to eviscerate him!* entering an old abandoned warehouse, she cocked an ear and... *shtshshh...* "You got it?" "It'll cost you extra this time. That last dog you sent me after..." Tracy had heard enough, and her partner was still nowhere in sight. She gave brief thanks to her wonderful *rich*, loving *connected* father and proceeded to jump off the two story building onto the ground. The crunch of the dirt under her heels reminded her briefly of that horrible parachute accident, but the moment passed. She picked up the heavy padlock with her right arm, and with a brief facial grimace -- the lock was torn apart. Sprinting almost faster than the eye could see, she moved across the warehouse floor, and ripped the door off the office room hinges. "You're under arrest!" The two men inside were dressed in badly fitting polyester suits, the wide lapels clearly indicating they were bought a time ago. The next few seconds seemed to pass in *that's happening a lot lately, i wonder why?* slow motion. The larger man moved to push her aside, and she threw him across the room. The other one decided that... perhaps the business of selling pet organ donor parts wasn't worth his life and he didn't resist as Tracy handcuffed him. She was bent over the fallen man's body when she heard a noise. Whirling around, she faced... her partner. "Detective Knight." "Tracy. How did you get here so fast?" "I... I was just about to ask you the same question." A silent moment as they both decided not to ask any more awkward questions. The same thought of *i wonder if she/he suspects?* passed through their minds. "The evidence is outside. These are the one's who killed..." "I know how much you loved Max. They'll pay, don't worry." "He was more than just a dog... He was a gift from my father." Between the two of them, they manhandled the two *base* criminals back to the caddy. Another day, another incident. For now, her/his secret was safe. Tomorrow? ----------------------------- Dedicated to Lindsey Wagner, the bionic dog, and Lisa Ryder (who I think is doing a decent job of playing Tracy/Tracey).
