How do you keep the Knight alive?

By continuing to combine proven strategies with innovative new concepts of gaining attention, spreading the word, rallying our forces, and attracting the attention of corporate and media entities.

In other words...
we just don't give up.

Here's what we're doing now.

Writing Letters:

The oldest trick in the book -- and it's worked before.

Write to your local cable provider and thank them for carrying SciFi so that you can watch Forever Knight. If you don't get SciFi, write to your cable provider and ask them to carry it -- and send a copy of the letter to SciFi.

Write to the advertisers and tell them that you saw their product's commercial aired during Forever Knight -- and because of that, you're more likely to buy it.

Write to Sony -- let them know we're still here.

Write, and keep writing! A steady stream of letters is one of the most effective tools we've got.

All the addresses you need can be found here, at The SOS-FK Library of Addresses {http://www.tiac.net/users/ktobin/sosfk.html}

The Charity Drive

Hey, Sony started it...

Over the holiday season, they offered us the opportunity to send e-mail "postcards" to our on-line friends through their web page. Different stars of Sony shows were invited to select a favorite charity, and Sony earmarked $10,000 to be divided proportionately among the various charities selected. In the case of the postcard featuring Geraint Wyn Davies {Nick Knight}, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation was the charity chosen.

We planned to make sure he and the P.A.F. won, one way or the other.

On January 17th, two representatives of the Friends of Forever Knight went to the Pediatric AIDS Foundation headquarters in Santa Monica, California, and hand-delivered checks totalling $5,806.50. The current total of the group charity drive has passed the $10,000 mark.

And we're still going strong.

We are suggesting a minimum donation of five dollars, but you can give as much as you want and feel you can afford. After all, it will all go to a splendid cause, whatever happens.

DONATIONS SHOULD BE SENT TO :

Ms. Lisa Prince
360 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 133
Norwalk, CT 06854-1824

Make checks/ money orders payable to the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, NOT to Ms. Prince. (Please, no cash!)

Here are some pictures of the initial turnover of $5,806.50 to the Pediatric AIDS Foundation...

Special thanks to Lisa Prince

Merchandising:

"Why don't we have Forever Knight t-shirts and coffee mugs and calendars and neat things to buy, like all the other television shows do?!?"

Apparently, because Sony doesn't believe that there is enough of an audience to merit such merchandising.

Anne Marion of TV ShowStuff is striving to prove to Sony that their assumption is in error. She is collecting e-mail from Forever Knight fans and forwarding it to Sony, in the hopes of gaining the rights to merchandise the show.

"We need every single FK fan to email us and tell us their love of the show and what kind of merchandise they would be willing to purchase," says Ms. Marion. "This our final shot at this otherwise it will be gone forever. Every email we get is going straight to them, seriously! So this is why all of us need to stick together right now, more than ever, and show the executives at Sony who we are and what we want."

Your e-mail, sent to Ms. Marion at TV_ShowStuff@prodigy.com, may make all the difference in our goal. Write now!

Special Thanks to Wicked Cousin Tippi

Vote With Your Wallet:

We don't get much merchandise, but what we do have is superb.

For instance, the recently-released Forever Knight soundtrack, featuring the music of Fred Mollin and appearances by Nigel Bennett (LaCroix) and Geraint Wyn Davies (Nick), which is available from GNP/Crescendo Records in both compact disc and cassette formats.

By purchasing the FK soundtrack, you not only get an excellent value for your musical dollar, you also cast your vote for more Forever Knight merchandise!

Contact your local music outlet, and tell them that you want to order Item # GNPD 8043 from GNP/Crescendo Records, the Forever Knight soundtrack. You won't regret the purchase!

In addition, Geraint Wyn Davies has recorded not one but two books-on-tape for Tangled Web Audio -- "Hauntings: A Classic Collection", which is currently available, and "Forebodings: American Classics", available in March 1996. For more information, check out Tangled Web's page at http://www.eidos.ca/tangled/

And according to our last information, Berkeley/Ace will be releasing the first Forever Knight paperback novels in or around January, 1997.

By purchasing these items, we increase our chances of getting more of the same. Cast your vote now...

Except that I've got the soundtrack, and it's awesome.

The Forever Knight Charity Bike Tour:

The FK Charity Bike Tour, also known as "Pedal for Forever Knight," is a fundraising ride organized in the early days of the SOS-FK campaign by a few FK fans who also like to cycle. The route will begin at Niagara Falls, and end in Toronto, Ontario, on August 1 and 2, 1996. All participants will be covering their own expenses (and/or mooching off of friends), so 100% of all donations and pledges will go to the Pediatric AIDS research program of the Children's Hospital Foundation. This is an excellent organization, and FK fans have a long tradition of supporting this cause through the Geraint Wyn Davies Fan Club.

For more information on the Bike Tour, how to participate or contribute, link to http://assets.wharton.upenn.edu/~percy91/FKtour.html or e-mail Allie at percy91@wharton.upenn.edu.

The Viewer Survey:

They keep telling us that there's no market for Forever Knight.

In other words, they're telling us that we don't exist.

So we're trying to prove otherwise.

Leslie Plummer is compiling a survey of Forever Knight viewers.
You can download a text copy of this survey by linking to Mr. Happy's FK Page at http://mtl.net/solidarite/mrhappy/fk.htm, fill it out and return it to Ms. Plummer via e-mail or snail mail.

She will be collecting survey responses through the end of 1996. Her goal is to receive over a thousand responses by the end of the year, to coincide with the start of season one on SciFi. So SEND YOURS IN!

Special thanks to Leslie Plummer,
and to Dianne LaMercenaire, for the source code :-)

Spread The Word:

How many Forever Knight viewers do you know?

If the answer is "none"... you're not looking hard enough.

We have found FK fans in the most unexpected places. In the elevator. On the bus. In the mall, playing Santa Claus over the holidays. At work. In the stands at our kids' Little League games.

You probably know other fans. You just don't know that you do.

And they may not even know, yet, that Forever Knight has been cancelled. Or they simply might not realize that they, too, are entitled to have their voices heard by the nameless, faceless Powers-That-Be who took away our favorite television show.

One of the best ways to spread the word is by distributing flyers. Take them to your local copy shop -- in many metropolitan areas, you can have a hundred flyers photocopied for only three dollars.

Pin up flyers on your college bulletin board, in your dorm; on the post-it board at the supermarket. Drop off a stack at your local comic or hobby shop. Stick a flyer into the envelope each time you mail a utility bill or credit card payment.

Spread the word. Hey, you never know who you might reach.

You can download flyers from the site at http://www.fkfanfic.com/sosfk/Flyers/ by clicking here.

Keep In Touch:

From the moment we first heard about the cancellation, and banded together to try to change things, our greatest asset has been our connection with each other. There's a whole community of Forever Knight fans out there, and we're always happy to welcome new friends.

"The Friends of Forever Knight" isn't some elite organization of privileged people. It's a loosely-woven group of television viewers, spread across the United States and Canada and Germany and England and Australia and Uruguay and South Africa, representing a solid cross-section of the population... a group of people who've met each other on Internet mailing lists and bulletin boards and newsgroups, or through fan clubs, or at conventions. Our shared interest in Forever Knight has spurred us to become friends... of the show, and of each other. Hence the name we've chosen for ourselves.

If you've explored the page to this point, chances are that you're a Friend of Forever Knight, too.

Come on in and say hello.
