What's It All About?
Forever Knight is a Columbia/TriStar television show that chronicles the story of a 13th-century vampire and his current life as a 20th-century police detective. In February, 1996, production of this show was discontinued after three seasons on the air.
In the past, Forever Knight fans have rallied to Save Forever Knight, as chronicled in the original Save Our Show Forever Knight website. But as months passed since the final air date of the third season episode, "Last Knight", in May, 1996, the energy to bring back Forever Knight was beginning to slide.
Starting in January, 1997 at Bridging the Knight, an FK convention, two FK fans, Julie Stafford and Bobbie Williams, came up with an idea to revitalize the campaign to bring back Forever Knight. The Save Our Show Forever Knight campaign, while not dead, no longer was adequate in focusing the drive to return Forever Knight into production.
As luck would have it, Geraint Wyn Davis, aka FK's "Nick Knight", Nigel Bennett ("LaCroix") and FK producer Jim Parriott were featured in the Vortex War Room in the SciFi Channel's Sci-Fi Vortex program, where Ger provided the campaign with the ideal slogan: "If we could get that thing 'kickstarted' that would be great." Thus, the campaign name Kickstart the Knight was born.
In the months to follow, the Kickstart the Knight Campaign has grown to include a larger team of people to help lead the drive, to help raise awareness of that we, the FK fans, have NOT given up hope that Forever Knight can be brought back, be it as a movie or even better, a renewed series.
